Over 40 years transforming spaces
Retroluz began with a very specific idea: creating modern spaces with backlit stretch ceilings, also known as backlight or indirect backlighting systems. What started more than 40 years ago as a narrow technical speciality grew into a company capable of delivering complete solutions in lighting, interior design and acoustic treatment. Since then, advances in materials, digital printing, fibre optics and new technologies have kept Retroluz at the forefront of the sector.
Experience and landmark projects
Over the years, Retroluz has delivered projects throughout Spain, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands and northern Morocco, working alongside architects, construction firms, hotels, retailers and major international brands. The company has worked on projects for Audi, Porsche, NH Hoteles, Marriott, casinos, motor shows and landmark venues such as the Hotel Puerta América in Madrid, one of the country’s best-known design hotels. It has also carried out work in institutional settings, including the UN in Geneva.
But whatever the size of the job or the name of the client, our philosophy stays the same: a small private project is treated with exactly the same care as an installation covering thousands of square metres. Every job is a responsibility — and a chance to do things properly.

Stretch ceilings create clean, modern and highly functional surfaces. They are lightweight, demountable, washable and hard-wearing systems that adapt to the building, absorb expansion and prevent common problems such as cracks and deformation. They also offer significant thermal and acoustic benefits, particularly in hotels, spas, heated swimming pools, offices and homes.

That commitment extends to training. Over the years, Retroluz has built a specialist school where more than 300 professional installers have already been trained. Four decades of experience go not only into every project, but also into passing the craft on to a new generation of professionals.
